The guys love the energy that is given off by the audience because the better the crowd, the better the band sounds. All the energy is absorbed, and the band also loves when the girls scream their name; it gives that extra awesome feeling of being on stage.
Now you, the reader, may be wondering, 'Where did the name Bronze Radio Return come from?' Henderson explained that it was a group effort, though the story was taken from his life.
When Henderson grew up in Maine, his dad had a vintage bronze radio where both of them would listen to really old songs. "Coming back to our band, it is kind of like the return of the bronze radio," explains Henderson.
After listening to their songs, I was unsure of what type of music they produced. I was told that their songs fall in the category of rock, though there are many different types of music mixed in their songs, blues being one of them. It is many different types of music coming together to form this genre.
Bronze Radio Return does not sound like John Mayer or Dave Matthews Band, but the people who listen to either of those two will like Bronze Radio Return.
Songs are written by the entire band. One of the band members will come in with a tune stuck in their head, and the band gets together to figure out a way to turn that tune into melody, which then lyrics will be added to. "Different things inspire different songs," said Henderson when I asked him what usually inspires him.
The band is definitely taking their career seriously, with major record labels such as Epic Records and Universal taking interest in them. Bronze Radio Return is very excited to play at the Hawk's Nest opening night, and many people are marking Oct. 20 on their calendars so they don't miss the show.
They are happy to be back at the University, though it will be the first time that the band will be playing at the renewed Hawk's Nest. What a great way to start off the beginning of the fall entertainment season.
