'I Love New York'

Tango Over Chance

Issue date: 4/12/07 Section: Entertainment
Tiffany "New York" Patterson (sometimes known as Tiffany Pollard) is one of the most talked about women in America today. She has become a name to know because of her well-known role on the hit reality television series, "Flavor of Love." The "bachelor picks mate" style series starred famous rapper Flava Flav of rap group Public Enemy.

Patterson upped the ratings every week with her over the top attitude, loud mouth and even louder clothing choices. Shortly after being dubbed "New York" by Flav himself, she became a star. The season ended badly for New York when Flav broke her heart by picking another woman in the final episode. But not to worry, New York wasn't done! Flav brought her back in the middle of the second season, "Flavor of Love 2," but once again she was second to another woman and left heartbroken.

New York refused to give up her spotlight and quickly agreed to star in her own show called "I Love New York," which just recently aired its final episode on VH1 on Monday, April 2. Throughout the season, the men endured different challenges to prove their love for New York.

The show started with the traditional meeting and greeting of her 20 sexy bachelors, and progressed through some interesting challenges including a male beauty pageant, assessing and presenting their financial worth, building a dog house for her dog, spending a day with their mothers and even meeting the previous boyfriends.

New York's mother came along for the ride, helping New York and giving her always humble opinion of who should stay and who should get the boot. When it came down to the final two, Chance and Tango, New York took the boys to Playa Car, Mexico for an exotic getaway. The evening startsed off with everyone at a romantic dinner and ends with Chance and Tango threatening each other's lives, resulting in 24-hour separation until elimination.

She goes on to spend a romantic day with each guy separately, including a yacht trip, a romantic dinner, swimming with dolphins and some kissing on the beach. The trip ends with New York's most difficult decision - picking the winner of the show, and more importantly her heart. As we all know now, Tango was chosen and some people were happier about that than others.
